Entry for Demo Festival - Based on the Exquisite corpse game where you draw collectively the same character, I collaged this frankestein using a different technique for each element (body in Blender, smoke in Touchdesigner, hands in After Effects, glow in Processing.js). Sound designed with the Roland S1.
In the song the producer IllBeso raises identity questions (‘Who am I? and why?’) In collaboration with Michelangelo De Cia, we imagined an intricate rave populated by a contrasting crowd, where each entity represents a different personality. All comes together in the final creature, composed by the multitude of layers and identities seen throughout the venture.
inspired by the concept of synesthesia, in this experiment I tied both sound and motion to the same arbitrarily triggered values. Sound designed with the Roland S1, visuals in Touchdesigner.
Inspired by granular synthesis, Space Villa and me translated the audio concept into a video editing approach. Sampling from a given set of audiovisual pieces, the algorithm composed the final montage based on unscripted chance.
For my graduation project I addressed the globalization of visual culture brought by social media. In an attempt to subvert the flatness, I designed a bot that ‘vandalises’ the most seen image on Twitter of the last hour and republishes it, pushing new aesthetics. Built in Processing.js.
For the music video of the track Resonance from Andrea Proietti, i created an algorithm that introduce basic elements like squares and lines and displace them following the structure and intensity of the song. Created in Processing.js
